The largest family tree that exists in the world today is the family tree of the ancient Chinese philosopher Confucius.  This family tree spans over eighty generations and includes more than two million members!  In 1998, an international effort was started to retrace and revise this family tree.  In 2009, another edition of this family tree was printed in honor of the 2560th birthday of Confucius.
